I designed this snap-fit puzzle as a party favor for the SME Rapid conference in 2011. This is a big trade show, and the idea was that for each of its nine parts, a vendor would volunteer to produce a few hundred of them, and then conference-goers would have to run around the show floor collecting them, then assemble them into the completed piece.
Incredibly, this worked. I even got to go, and watching 400 engineers try to assemble the thing was extremely amusing.
